Almost since the day Traitor’s Blade came out in 2014 I’ve been periodically bombarded by requests for the series to come out in audiobook. Now, at last, they’re on the way. The very talented Joe Jameson (who also voices the Spellslinger series), has recorded ALL FOUR books!
The entire quartet will be released in the UK and worldwide on Audible in the third week of November. For those of you in the United States and Canada, the the first book comes out in December and then the others will follow. Yes, I know this means North America ends up waiting again. It’s a curse, but we’ll all pull through.
I really, really hope you all enjoy the Greatcoats in audiobook!

I just finished Traitor’s Blade in audio that dropped via Audible on Dec.26th in the US. Great book and a great audiobook! I’m anxiously awaiting the next in the series. Can you tell me if this was your debut fantasy book? If so, nicely done! If not, what books are on your back list?

Delighted to hear you enjoyed the audiobook of Traitor’s Blade, Cheryl! Joe Jameson is a terrific narrator. Traitor’s Blade was indeed my debut, and followed by the rest of the Greatcoats series: Knight’s Shadow, Saint’s Blood, and Tyrant’s Throne (all coming to Audible U.S. and Canada over the coming year.) My other books are in the YA fantasy series, the first of which is Spellslinger and the second Shadowblack. The next four books in the series come out in 2018 and 2019.

Sebastian,
Back on your AMA on Reddit last year, you said something about potentially working on two more short stories/side stories for the Greatcoats series (I think at least one was about a Greatcoat we haven’t met yet), but I can’t find anything about them on this site. Did you scrap them? Or have you just gotten super busy?

Hi Melissa,
I’ve been working on the next big book in the world of the Greatcoats (well, in fact, I’ve worked on four different beginnings to four different novels in that world, but I think I’ve got it now.) I haven’t done any short stories for the Greatcoats as yet, mostly because I’ve been swamped on full-length novels in both series. However I’m hoping to get something small done in the next couple of months.
